What you stop paying when the invoice lives somewhere else

Most businesses pick an invoicing tool once and never look at the bill again. It is worth one afternoon, because the costs that hurt are not the ones on the pricing page — they are the ones that keep charging whether or not anything happened.
The subscription that runs before the first invoice
The cheapest QuickBooks Online plan that both sends invoices and accepts online payment is $38 a month. That is $456 a year committed before a single customer has paid you anything, in a quiet month as much as a busy one.
Read from Intuit's own pricing page on 23 September 2026. Their promotional rate is lower for the first three months; $38 is the regular price, which is the one you actually pay.
With us, creating a company is free and stays free. We take 0.9% of money that arrives and nothing else. A month where you invoiced nothing costs nothing.
The seat for every person who needs to look
Per-user pricing is the cost that grows without anyone deciding to grow it. Your bookkeeper needs access. So does your partner. So does the accountant, at year end, for two weeks.
Here there is no per-user seat. Add whoever needs to see it; the bill does not move.
The fee on money that never arrived
This one is worth checking on your own statement. Some processors charge on invoices that fail, get disputed, or get refunded — so a bad month costs you twice.
We charge on money that moved. An invoice that goes nowhere costs you our chasing, not your cash. Refund a customer and our share goes back with it.
And the one that dwarfs all three: which button they press
A card payment in the United States costs 2.9% + 30¢, with no ceiling. A bank transfer costs 0.8%, capped at $5.
| Invoice | Paid by card | Paid by bank | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| $500 | $14.80 | $4.00 | $10.80 |
| $1,200 | $35.10 | $5.00 | $30.10 |
| $5,000 | $145.30 | $5.00 | $140.30 |
| $20,000 | $580.30 | $5.00 | $575.30 |
Our 0.9% is the same either way, so this is entirely your gain — which is why we will tell you to take the transfer on anything large. Processor rates read 23 September 2026.
Bank transfer is not a card, and that matters: four business days to settle, it can fail after it looked paid, and disputes are final. The full list is here. For a few hundred dollars to somebody new, take the card. For thousands to a customer you know, take the transfer.
What we cannot do yet
Updated 21 October 2026. When this was first written, the ledger was not American. It is now: a US company gets a chart of accounts in English, numbered on US convention, in dollars.
What is still missing: there is no bank feed (you import the statement file your bank exports), sales tax is a rate you enter rather than one we look up, there are no 1099s, and there is no US price for bookkeeping yet. If your books depend on any of that, keep them where your accountant expects to find them, and send the invoice and collect the money here.
Those are real limits, and you should know them before you sign up rather than after.
